Bio, influences and gear

Boyce sings a lot when he gets drunk and he gets drunk a lot so it seemed best to make him the pig's singer. Years of bodily abuse has given Boyce's voice a gravelly edge which means he can throw up during his performance without anyone realising. He has a really shiny desk thing with lots of lights and two big speakers. He always brings it with him to show off but so far we haven't used it.

Boyce is influenced by beer, fags and bright lights.

My early musical experience was within the world of drumming. With a pro jazz drummer in the family (my Dad) it was a natural path to investigate, however despite all the rudiments and practice and the fact that I couldn't keep time - it never really happened. I played drums with a youth marching band for a number of years (The Charioteers) and wore a bright red uniform with a fluffy red hat - Quality - If you pay enough I might post this picture on my bio.....

Some years ago through Ex Pig Paul (the bastard) and work - I got roped into playing in a band for the company Christmas party as they had heard me sing a pissed rendition of Mustang Sally at a Karoke bar in London. The party went well (surprisingly) and the band (Borderline Blues) carried on for some years. I also started a Duo with Paul (2 Good 2 B Blue) playing to poor quality backing tracks in poor quality pubs with poor quality vocals .
It was fun and Paul, (the bastard) and I grew to be great friends..

2003 - I gave up Borderline Blues to spend time with my newly born son Aaron (Ahhhh !) and for a while only did the Duo thing. However one day the Pig boys called me up and asked me to step in for an open air gig in Hadleigh. We had a couple of rehearsals the band were so desperate I couldn't leave them and Bob's your uncle Boyld Pig were born.

Eventually the Duo gave way and the Pigs became my musical outlet. I sometimes sing in key and occasionally sing the same verse twice (even though I'm reading the lyrics) but they can't find anyone else with a PA so until then!! ... They also let me play my shiny blowy thing (ooh er Mrs) in one song even though Daz (Bored Pig) says it sounds like a cat giving birth and I can only play 4 notes....

I like most types of music (except pop) but the Modfather (Weller) and Hendrix spank my monkey

My favourite colour is Magenta and I eat a lot of protein. Hang on that could be misunderstood?

I have a 600W PA with big black speakers (home made) and lots of twiddly knobs...Oh and a radio mic, which the boys want to spray Pink....
