News of the Band
December 2007: Ok, well another year has passed and the Pigs have new songs, an all new acoustic set and a nice collection of hats. The Hats will be worn in rotation by Mark as the rest of us all look stupid in hats. In addition to this we have been the awarded the title of "most miserable band 2007". This was a big thrill for us all as it is exactly the impression we aimed to give. So thank you all for voting, proceeds from the voting scandal will go directly to the boyldpig charity as soon as we get the bank account open. Next year we are aiming for "most pessimistic band 2008" we don't think we'll get it but it's worth a try anyway. Well actually it's probably not even worth trying but we have little else to do. So when we fail don't be surprised - Oh I feel so miserable... 2009 is the Chinese year of "Apathy" and don't worry we will be ready at the gate for that one. By the way come see the Pigs! We love it when you turn up and shout!
New Year 2006/7: Following a Chrsitmas and New year huddled around the piano wearing our new sweaters, smoking pipes and singing our old favourite German Weihnachten Carols the band is back for a new year of gigs in true hard rock style. This year we really mean to get mean. We have some new songs... who can forget the Eurovision winner "Save all your Kisses for me" with the twiddly leg thing going on, a punk cover of Val Doonican's "Paddy McGinty's goat" and last but not least a Thrash metal version of Jake Thackray's "
The Hair of the Widow of Bridlington". So check out the gigs page and come see the band.
Mark Joins September 2006: The biggest news at the moment is the addition of Mark to the band. When Paul left we all got very drunk and thought we could never replace him. But after two days of intensive searching we found Mark (Ellie to his friends). He really is pretty damn good and will bring a lot to the band over the coming years. You can find out more about Mark in his bio but if you come to see the Pigs we feel sure you will be impressed with the whole package. We hope to show our scope to play all kinds of music and introduce some interesting new music to our sets.
Paul's exit July 2006... Paul's last Gig with the Pigs was at Hadleigh in Suffolk during July 2006 and it was a great gig. We all wish Paul well, wherever the hell he is, and hope he is able to inflict his style of playing on a new host of undeserving locals. All of the band knew Paul in some way or another for many years prior to the Pigs formation and he has been a pretty decent geezer to know. He will be slightly missed on occasions.
